"Standing Buffalo Dakota Nation Health Station's Mission is to protect and enhance each community members health through his or her life cycle; recognize the significance of their mental, physical, emotional and spiritual well-being as a holistic balance. FHQ TRIBAL COUNCIL SERVICES

* Regular home visits are done to provide assessment, wound care, foot care and respite services to palliative clients and their caregivers

* Monthly wellness clinics are held in conjunction with Diabetes Team, Community Health Director and CHR

* Providing nutrition education and counselling while coordinating with the CPNP

* Environmental health program works to identify and prevent environmental public health risks that could impact the community

* The Drinking Water Safety Program is responsible for monitoring the safety of all the drinking water in the community

 

HEALTH DIRECTOR 

* Plans, coordinates and controls the activities of the health programs provided to the community

* Plans, organizes, directs and controls the delivery of services offered by health professionals

* Ensures optimal use of resources, illumination of duplication, the availability and provision of quality services to the community

 

PEDIATRICIAN

* Provide services to the community on a weekly basis

* Assessment for infants and children 0/18 years of age

* Referrals made as needed

 

THERAPIST 

* Provides counselling and referrals to community members on a weekly basis

COHI

* COHI dental therapist and COHI aid promote healthy dental hygiene

* COH I dental therapist and COHI aide promote healthy dental hygiene I already children from 0/7 years of age and prenatal clients

* Helps children establish and maintain healthy teeth and gums

 

PARENT MENTOR

* Assist families to enhance/develop parenting skills

* Support families in raising health babies and young children in a safe environment

* Support and promote the maternal Child health program

BRIGHTER FUTURES

* Children’s development and wellness activities are offered through recreation programs in partnership with the school

* Partnership with other agencies such as the tribal Council to offer opportunities in peer counseling, YEP program summer camps and conferences

* Main focus is on mental health, child development, parenting, healthy baby and injury prevention

 

COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSE (CHN)

* Providing Prenatal and postnatal care

* Child health clinic (CHC) to provide immunizations and assessments on growth and development, nutrition, safety, medical and dental

* Annual TB screening

* Home visits

* Communicable Disease Control

* School immunizations, presentations and referrals

 

COMMUNITY HEALTH REPRESENTATIVE (CHR)

* Providing primary health services to the community members

* Participate in community development activities

* Resource support person in health station for a community member

* Canadian Parental Nutrition Program (CPNP) classes held monthly for parental and postnatal clients

 

HOME MAKER

* Assisting approved finance in the community with laundry and daily household chores

 

MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION 

* Providing transportation services to status clients in the community

* 24 hour notice needed for transportation services to Regina and Fort Qu’Appelle for doctors and specialists appointments

 

MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR 

* Coordinate doctor's appointments for approve/eligible status clients

* Informs clients of their appointments

 

NATIONAL NATIVE ALCHOL AND DRUG ABUSE PROGRAM (NNADAP)

* Liaison for referral services for youth and adults living with addictions in a community

* Assesses the need of youth and adults as it pertains to addiction

* Planning and delivering programs related to areas such as health, drugs/alcohol abuse

* Support and facilitate personal and social growth in youth and adults

* Provide individual, family and group counselling
